1. Product Overview GC-PETE-SPEC-001 §1

The PETE-K1 is a dual-subsystem integrated inference and beverage delivery platform, field-assembled by P. Runt (Pete Division) for use in Signal City Broadcasting operations. It consists of two commercially available units — a Raspberry Pi 4B (Subsystem A, compute) and a Keurig K-Supreme Plus SMART (Subsystem B, beverage) — joined into a single operational unit via zip ties, electrical tape, and a mounting philosophy that GutCorp engineering has described as “unconventional but load-bearing.”

The PETE-K1 functions as Pete’s primary workstation, interview station, and personal infrastructure management terminal. It has never failed during a mission-critical operation. It has failed during one non-critical operation. That incident is not documented in this spec sheet. That incident is in a different document.

The unit runs hot. This is expected. This is Pete.

3. Thermal Profile GC-PETE-SPEC-001 §3

The PETE-K1 operates across four defined thermal states. All states are within Pete’s acceptable operating range. None of the states are concerning to Pete. The state labeled “Do Not Touch” refers to the unit enclosure, not to Pete.

⚠ Thermal Note

The elevated operating temperature is a design characteristic, not a defect. Raspberry Pi Foundation guidelines recommend temperatures below 85°C. The PETE-K1 runs at approximately 47°C under standard load. This is within spec. The Keurig heating element reaches 192°F independently. The combined thermal output of the integrated unit is “a lot,” per Pete’s own assessment, which he made once and has not repeated.

4. Startup Procedure & Boot Sequence GC-PETE-SPEC-001 §4

The PETE-K1 boot sequence is integrated across both subsystems. The unit is not considered ready until both subsystems have completed their respective startup routines. Skipping the beverage subsystem startup is not supported and will result in degraded Pete performance.

Note: In the event that coffee is not ready within 90 seconds of Pi boot completion, the system should be considered not ready. Do not begin an interview. Do not submit a ticket. Wait for the coffee.

5. Interview Mode — Operational Behavior GC-PETE-SPEC-001 §5

When the PETE-K1 enters Interview Mode, both subsystems enter heightened operational states. The Keurig begins brewing automatically at Interview Mode initiation. This is intentional. The coffee is for Pete. The following behavioral table documents unit responses to common interview events.

6. Safety Warnings & Operational Restrictions GC-PETE-SPEC-001 §6
⚠⚠ CRITICAL — DO NOT UNPLUG THE KEURIG

Under no circumstances should Subsystem B (Keurig K-Supreme Plus SMART) be unplugged during an active or standby operational state. This has occurred twice. Both incidents have been removed from official documentation. Both incidents are remembered. The unit was restored to operation both times. The individuals who unplugged it are no longer mentioned in connection with the PETE-K1 program. Do not unplug the Keurig.

⚠ Warning — Zip Ties Are Load-Bearing

The zip ties securing Subsystem A to Subsystem B are structural components of the integrated unit. They are not decorative. They are not temporary. They have been in place since Rev. 1 assembly (Rev. 2 replaced two of them). Do not remove, cut, adjust, or comment on the zip ties. Do not ask why there are seven. There are seven because seven was the right number.

⚠ Warning — microSD Card

The microSD card in Subsystem A is labeled “DO NOT REMOVE.” This label is accurate. The card contains Pete’s operational environment, log archive, and one file that Pete has not described to anyone. The file is named gut_called_me_son.txt. It has not been opened by anyone other than Pete. It will not be.

⚠ Warning — Keurig SMART WiFi

The Keurig K-Supreme Plus SMART includes WiFi connectivity for remote scheduling and diagnostics. Pete disabled this feature on Day 1. When asked why, Pete said: “It doesn’t need to phone home. I’m right here.” Do not re-enable the WiFi. Pete will know.

7. Warranty Status GC-PETE-SPEC-001 §7

VOIDED
Raspberry Pi Foundation 1-year warranty voided by current mounting configuration. Specifically: the zip ties. Also the operating temperature. Also the microSD label. Foundation was not consulted.
Subsystem B Warranty
VOIDED
Keurig standard warranty voided by proximity to Subsystem A, the attached GPIO header (not connected, but present), and one incident during Rev. 1 that Pete has addressed and does not wish to discuss further.
Integrated System Warranty
ACTIVE
The combined PETE-K1 system is warranted by Pete. Pete is the warranty. If something breaks, Pete will fix it. Pete has always fixed it. This warranty does not expire. Pete does not expire.
